Human beings have been living in space aboard the International Space Station for one decade on November 2, 2010, and the 10th anniversary of human beings living in permanently in space was celebrated this morning at 9:30 a.m. EDT with a new conference from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida featuring the six astronauts currently living on board the International Space Station. The subsequent news conference was open to accredited media representatives at participating NASA or international partner locations and will be broadcast live on NASA Television. This news conference was also important in that it begins a relationship between NASA and the mobile social networking application Foursquare allowing users to connect to NASA, explore the universe and learn more about the Earth. There's also a nice customized section on the Foursquare website for NASA to provide users with official tips and information dealing with American space program events occuring around the United States of America.

The current crew of the International Space Station is Expedition 25, the 25th crew to live and work aboard the station, consisting of Commander Doug Wheelock; his fellow NASA astronauts Scott Kelly and Shannon Walker; and Russian cosmonauts Fyodor Yurchikhin, Alexander Kaleri and Oleg Skripochka. The crew was waiting for space shuttle Discovery to make her last voyage to the International Space Station at 4:40 p.m. EDT on November 1, but the STS-133 mission was delayed so engineers could make sure everything is working fine. The latest reports indicate the Prelaunch Mission Management Team will possibly have a meeting on Wednesday at 2 p.m. EDT, before deciding if they should launch Discovery on Thursday.
